    Default Flying in December!

Well, I know my bees are alive and well -- both hives are doing a huge orientation flight right now, I could hear them long before I got to the hives to check!

We will see how things go later in the week, though -- it's supposed to get down to 17F after Xmas. Typical Indiana weather, I'm hanging out laundry to day and it will be in the teens in a couple days!

Sounds like cleansing flights to me.

Definitely orientation flights, they are working the deadnettle that is blooming. Huge clouds of bees circling the hive, just like normal orientation flights. They are also doing cleansing flights as well, I'm sure, as they've been inside for about a week with cold weather and 50 mph wind gusts, but out working today.

Alright Peter, glad your hives are ok, I was hoping to see my bees flying today but had to make a trip into town and missed it.

    It's flowing, its flowing already!
You WERE talking about rain; right?
For those of us that live in the shower we envy you.
I have exactly ONE hive more than you.
That makes my opinion beyond question.

I have not seen my bees flying for two weeks. It has been raining and snowing for the last two days and tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same. we got very close to having floods about two weeks ago. Very wet, way beyond normal. And cold. tamps are often in the 20's which is unusual for us any time of the year. Friday started off at above 40 and then got colder as the day progressed. I was hoping for a good day to fly for the bees. Nope.

Actually Harry I was talking about the Eucalyptus flow. I hope I have enough supers.
I'll borrow some from odfrank, his bees are probably all dead anyway so he won't need them.

He must have been. SF is washing away today with heavy downpours and flash floods

Charlie, you sure they'll want to move into those?
