Pollen Laden Bees - Dec in NC

This past weekend bees were loaded up with pollen returning to the hive. Yellow and white not sure what it is. Its December and we are in NC but having some nice mild weather for the bees to be out and about.

I noticed the same thing last Saturday.

Mines bringing in orange pollen and I am happy,,,plenty of honey stores and now plenty of pollen,,,life is good. (Unless Murphey's Law kicks in and something goes wrong.)

Purple nettle and some clover is blooming in in foot hills.

It has been so warm I put out open feeders.

Leftover asters, random dandilions and witch hazel. Witch hazel i believe is the big one right now.

The Maples have started blooming here in the South and the queens have picked up the pace.

interesting. my neighbor who also has bees has some ornamentals in bloom, camellias and mahonias, and the bees are working them.
