Shipping at Miller bee supply question

Is it me or what, when I check my order in the shopping basket in there online store when the order gets over $300 the shipping price goes away. Free shipping over $300 or something. Just curious

They may have to calculate actual shipping costs for larger orders. I know one company does that, but I can't remember which one.

I buy commercial boxes from Miller's. For me, it's cheaper than buying from Mann Lake and having free shipping.

Yes, Mann Lake's boxes are 7/8" thick so the outside dimensions are larger. I believe that Betterbee also uses 7/8" wood.

Most others use 3/4". It is generally recommended to use frames and boxes from the same supplier. I haven't followed that recommendation.

Mine too, actually a spot check with a micrometer showed it a 64th under 3/4.

Apparently they have switched to cheaper lumber. When did you buy your boxes? Maybe Betterbee are 3/4" as well now. My first boxes came from Betterbee.

Almost all boxes made is USA are ¾” stock. Canada uses 7/8”, so keep that in mind if you’re close to our northern border.

I was not impressed with the answer but it does answer why they ship both sizes of wood. It would be a pain if you need all of one size.
