I think it has a larger effect on you guys in the cold part of the country. 40 with rain, I didn’t need a trend line to tell me that. I think the weatherman said we were up 6” so far for the rain year and just getting started. As Miller said we are getting about the same temps but more rain. Flood watch in effect again today. My bees have been making kayaks out of wax.

While it was indeed common to have a significantly higher overwinter success last year in these parts (MN), word on the street is that swarming was more of an issue, and more mite issues as well. For me it's not how many make it through winter, it's how many colonies produce surplus honey for me.
