Does anyone use this wood? I have heard it has excellent rot resistance.

It would probably require a special design since about the widest lumber you can find is about 6". Cedar is used however.
use a biscuit and jointer,, and then glue the boards together
Eastern Red Cedar (the tree) is a species of juniper.

Lots of it around here. Smaller trees are commonly used for fenceposts, and it does last a long time.

Steves1967,
Have you considered cypress, wide boards should be a none issue and excellent rot resistance!

I don't know much about cypress. I am pretty sure it is mostly in the southeast and I am in the northwest so shipping adds to cost. I am looking to build hive furniture cheaply and on the east side of Oregon juniper is a pest and weed.
