New to beekeeping, getting ready for Spring

Hi All,

I'll start off by saying that my wife no longer thinks me crazy, she just humors me. Well, I do know that she humors me at least. Usually.

I'm Pete, from Springfield Ohio. After a number of years of tending to chickens I've finally landed on a property where I can feel comfortable keeping bees. So, with permission (or at least good humor, like I said), I am beginning the process of setting up my first hive. I am looking forward to 'meeting' some of you, and I hope that you'll indulge yet another newbie on the forum. From what I've seen those who have gone before have paved the way.
