    Default Maxant?

Does any one know if Maxant is going to offer free shipping for the holidays? I am going to order a 16gallon bottling tank. Was going to go with a Maxant or a Kelly tank while they have free shipping. Jake are you around today???

Jake may give you free shipping anyway since you're a Beesource member. Send him a PM.

Let me know what you find. I would like one also for Christmas. It would go great under the tree.

No silly, it is in the dining room now where all good extractors are kept. Wife said either you or it out of the bedroom.

It wont fit through the doorway (29inches) into the spare bedroom which I have turned into my honey room. I have 30 or so boxes of Deeps that yet need to be extracted and the honey warmer (Temp controlled converted Refrigerator). Knotweed and some BB. All the fireweed 3 pallets of deeps is going to be extracted at my friends house on his big cowen 60 and 300 gallon holding tank. Not sure if I will bucket or barrel it.

I emailed, them I was asking here because I did not think anyone would be at Maxant today. Because I was going to order from Walter Kelly while they had free shipping. But, wanted to go with Maxant first since Jake has such a great reputation for customer service.

Maxant emailed me back. They said they have not made a decision on whether they were going to offer free shipping or not this holiday season. So I went ahead and ordered a bottling tank from Kelly.

What is the link to the ones you were comparing. If they are not doing free shipping I will have to go to Portland and pick it up since it is typically the same price as they list. Since there is no sales tax that is great also. Dont think you have that luxury in FLA.

Here is the one from Kelly https://kelleybees.com/Products/Deta...3333&grouped=1

Here is the one from Maxant http://www.maxantindustries.com/bottling.html

There normally is not tax on internet sales here in Fl. Unless the Company also has a store in the state. Like Dadant. If I order from Dadant I have to pay shipping and also sales tax. The in state Dadant store is about 1 1/2 hours from the house so I normally only order from them for big orders and I will go pick it up. For smaller orders I normally just order from another company.

Your link did not work. Is this a Maxant 1400? https://kelleybees.com/Products/Deta...30333933373333 Seems to have the same model numbers.

Here is the correct link for the bottling tank https://kelleybees.com/Products/Deta...3333&grouped=1 Oh that is a Maxant also. I did not know that.

The Maxant one is $999 + shipping, and the same at Kellys is $1225 with free shipping? I'm confused. Did the OP achieve any savings?

Since you haven't bought extractor or bottling equipment since 1903 you're probably not aware of today's shipping cost.

Actually, I have never bought any extracting or bottling equipment. I have picked it all up from beginners with big fantasies who crash and burn when they figure out it is not the get rich quick scheme their dreams and spread sheets indicated it would be.

I hope you're not referring to ESB, he's a good guy and certainly not cheap and greedy like someone else I know.

Well thank you Charlie. Definitely not cheap. This hobby is costing me dearly each year and I only get the premo stuff. Like Maxant Extractor and bottling tank this year and Swinger 1k Fork lift is next.

So speaking of Bottling tanks what is best the 16 gallon or 25. It is only a couple hundred more for the larger. I and also torn and think the smaller one as my training tank.

So JohnG is that working well for you?

We have a 16 gallon Maxant bottling tank and really like it. My main reason for going with the 16 was due to space and I could also use common 5 gallon paint filters for this size vs having to buy special filtering cloth in the rolls. I had Kelley make me a custom filter to sit on top of the Maxant bottling tank that I alligator clip to the paint filter to. Works wonderfully.

I also purchased the Maxant 16 gal. bottler in October. I forgot how nice they were. Many years ago I had the larger bottler. It was a matter of space for me this time. We run under 100 hives but i'm sure i'll keep it busy. I'm thinking that I will buy another one that way I can separate my light honey from my darker honey and have two tanks to bottle from. I have always liked Maxants quality.

Here's an update. I ended up with the Maxant 16 gallon bottling tank. I absolutely love it! Shipping was not near as bad as I was expecting. I had the tank within three days of placing my order. It is a very well made tank. I thought about the 25 gallon tank but, I'm glad I went with the smaller one. At least until I add on to my honey kitchen. LOL

Thanks guys. They just quoted me 70$ in shipping so that is way cheaper then driving to Oregon to get it. So that comes out to 999 +50 (ndv) +70 (shipping)=1,124. Better then Kellys and has the correct stickers on it. So I will order it this weekend in time for Santa to stuff it down the chimney, Sure hope he does not dent it.
