Question white cedar hive, bad idea?

I have a log that i beleive is white cedar. Ive been thinking about trying to slice it into boards. Would it be good to build a hive? I know red cedar is supposed to keep bugs away, would it keep bees away?

My cedar hive i built is great. I cant see anything wrong with free wood. You got nothing to lose trying.

With cedar is does good to let it oxidize for a couple weeks before putting bees in it.

Milling it into boards and making hives is more dangerous to you than to the bees. Keep your hands out of the blades and wear safety glasses and hearing protection and don't inhale the dust. The bees will be fine in it.
