My sugar frames did not set up. I know I didn't hit the crack candy stage of 310 degrees. The recipe called for 275 degrees. I am thinking of incorporating baking soda in limited amount to this as I use it to harden peanut brittle when making it. It is incorporated at the last few seconds and causes the candy to flash into hard set. I need to know if baking soda is harmful to bees. I plan on using 1 tablespoon per 25#'s of sugar and 2 quarts of water. Maybe less could be used but need info as to whether it is harmful to bees.
