Who struggles to open (and sometimes close) 5 gallon buckets?
Who struggles to open (and sometimes close) 5 gallon buckets?
Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don’t have film.
There is a tool for that. But I don't have one !![]()
What we have here, is a failure to communicate !
This is what I use to open pails. I have never had any problems.

I use a rubber mallet to close them.
I close them with a section of 2x4 across the top, then hammer down on the 2x4 with a mallet, working side to side until all sections are completely down.
Get the opening tool from a bee supply house, and a rubber mallet from an auto parts or big box store. I just go around the rim with the mallet. Both are a piece of cake to use.

or use gamma lids, and you don't have to hammer anything.

Home Depot sells a tool to open the 5 gallon bucket lids a lot cheaper than the bee supply houses. It is in the same aisle as the 5 gallon bucket lids.
Get the tool from home depot costs like 4 bucks and then you wont have issues. It is in the paint department near the buckets.
EDIT: oops should read the whole thread before answering someone already said this.![]()
