steam wax melters - how long to work?

Am seriously considering building a steam wax melter using a wallpaper steamer as in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbx-Dv5iLmA

Has anyone used similar? How long does it take to melt out a box of comb?

Any other input on them would be helpful.

Be careful with direct steam. Wax should be rendered in hot water to prevent saponification, that alters its composition.
