How much open brood?

I'm in northern Virginia . How much open brood should I be seeing?

Last time I looking in my hives I didn't see any open brood (last weekend). Couple full frames of capped brood, but nothing else.

The queen should be shutting down about now there -- you will be getting cold weather soon, if not so cold as here, and the bees should be clustering with minimal or no brood for a few months.
