Can anyone help?
I saw a Youtube video that showed a woman (Ibelieve in Germany) that treated her packages before she hived them.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or has seen the video?
I can't find it.
Thanks

I treated my packages with Hopguard this spring. The mites enter the cell on the fifth day after the queen lays. I treated on the sixth or seventh day after installing packages, which should be before any mites enter the brood. I only treated once, since there was no possibility of mites being released from hatching brood.
This wasn't a great year for honey here but all my packages look strong going into winter. I am treating this fall also.

I think it is an IWF video called beekeeping by rotation system.
Here is a link to the series. There are several videos to watch though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKTvp1lupHY
This is an older movie from the bee institute in Celle Germany. The chemicals they used in the package bees is Perizin (Chumafos) liquid. It doesn't work anymore, the mites are resistant.
Hopsgaurd or Oxalic Acid would probably work.
Axtmann, do beekeepers still use the rotational concept in Germany? It is a very interesting concept.
