The more of these I buy, the better the price. New price is $160 plus shipping, which is about $25 east of the Rockies and $30 west of the Rockies.

Ed can you pm with more info on the extractor, manufacturer etc. What do you mean that it has been factory modified to fit US frames? About how long or how many cranks does it take to empty a frame of honey? Thanks Steve

Since you are not far away, the best thing is to take a look at one. In fact, I will be in Myrtle Beach on Thursday and I can save you a trip. If you purchase, you will save the shipping charge as well. If you want to meet, my cell number is in the first post. Only negative is SC buyers have to pay sales tax (12.80).

To answer the question, these extractors are made in China by a small manufacturer whose name no one would recognize. They make their extractors to fit international frames which are quite large. Without changes, our 6" and smaller frames would fall through the basket. Look at the picture of the basket. I am their first US customer and they modify them for me at their factory. The honey gate is included in the price. The gears are metal.

I usually spin them about 3 minutes or so on each side. I do not worry about what may be left because I give it back to the bees to clean up and I have to leave honey for them anyway. At first, I felt I was wasteing honey if I didn't empty the frames. Now I realize that isn't the case at all.

I have sold over 100 of these with no problem other than one that received damage from shipping. When these are gone, they are gone. I did not intend to get into business (I am retired) and it is a lot of work !!

    Take care,

    Ed

Ed is great to deal with, both honest and helpful. After a few email's back and forth I decided to give his 2 frame a try. This unit seems like it will last a good long time. Comes 90% assembled, you just put on the honey gate and the handle. It will hold almost a full 5 gallon bucket worth of honey before you are in danger of the basket hitting the honey, and it has a conical bottom so it drains easily.
I would certainly do business with Ed again.

There has been a price increase, sorry.

$175 for extractor only and $185 with the cold cap knife and lightweight bee hat/veil.
Shipping $30 to east coast and $40 west of the Rockies.
