Default Question about sound heard coming from hive

First year beek here and only one Lang hive.
This hive is doing well & they are evicting drones in preparation for winter.
I was watching this eviction play out & heard a noise from deep within the hive, I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it kinda sounded like a small woodpecker or lil' jackhammer.
    Haven't heard this noise before.
    It was kinda neat.
Would someone care to shed some light on what I heard?

    Edit to add:
No odd tenants within, mouse or snake.
I checked before I added a mouse guard last week.

Kinda like the Thrumming noise heard on this site.
    Ignore the bird chirps.

Not a stupid question. Havent heard any woodpeckers in my hives. the queen can make a drumming noise sorta a battle call to other queens but dont think you would heard that from outside the hive...

A few years ago I had a very bad outbreak of wax moths, and found the jack-hammer/grinding sound was chewing the hive wood by wax moth larvae.
