Default Bees in the news - in a bad way again

I am not sure what the heck is being taught/shared with the Beekeepers Association of Central Arizona, but if some of you are on beesource please PM me. I am ashamed and astonished by this article, most specifically this part:

...of the Beekeepers Association of Central Arizona, said the attacks no doubt came from Africanized bees, which are wild in the desert and can take over a beekeeper's hives if he or she is not vigilant.
Really now? and you know this because they were tested in a lab, right?

Yes, NO DOUBT. I like the admonishment that we have to requeen every year.

Good thing they're only wild in the desert, though. I'm in Texas. We'll be fine.
