Honey Robber Smells!

Wow! I opened the honey robber container just to get things ready for this afternoon. I didn't open the bottle, just the container it shipped in........it smells like vomit! No wonder the bees hate it. Do you leave the fume board outside for a few days to let it air out when you are done? How long will it take the bees to clear out of 1 super? I think I am almost ready to harvest my first honey.

YEP smells BAD (don`t ever spill it in your truck)
I leave my stinky boards out side all the time
Acording to the temp the bees should mostly be out of the suuper in 5 to 10 mins but bear in mind if there is brood in the super they won`t leave

P.S. if you leave the boards in the back of your truck in a parking lot it will clear the cars around you

I don't think there is any brood, but I will know for sure real soon.

I have given up on using it. First it worked, now my bees give a hoot about it. Plus the nasty smell. I now only use smoke and a goose feather to get the bees off. Works just fine. Perhaps not practical for a large operation.
BTW all my supers have a 3/4 hole in front for the bees to get in and out faster. It also helps them curing the honey by giving extra air circulation. We use the same hole to smoke them down with. Leave the lid on, pump in smoke, and 30 seconds later the super is clear of bees.
