    Default Bee Repellent

Had this thought last night while in the shower (don't ask). Ok, it was after a removal job where I took a few stings, so I was nursing my wounds. I've read of eating garlic products to repel mosquitoes just by your body odor. Don't know of the validity, as I've never tried it. But I wonder, would the same thing, or something similar, possibly discourage bees from wanting to land on/sting you? Just an odd thought, has anyone read of or heard of anything like this?
After 20 months I'm over a 20 hives and growing. See my videos! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8fVrmUsyYlRuASdX6UQk1g

Haven't heard about garlic repelling bees, but if you spray bee-go on, I'm sure it'll work!

There are lots of chemicals in bananas, and lots of chemicals in alarm pheromone. Isoamyl acetate is found in both: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopentyl_acetate

Artificial banana flavoring is essentially pure isoamyl acetate, so I would expect it to have a larger effect than natural bananas.

Inspired by mythbusters I tried holding a peeled banana and a sliced apple in front of three different hives. Neither elicited a response...
