Which Jacket?

My hive was queenless and got a little pecky. I was stung a handful of times and harrassed a bit. I'm hopefully queenright and need to check them this weekend. I've lost my confidence. I think I'll be in a better place mentally if I had an inspectors jacket. Thoughts about the jacket from Brushy Mountain? I have a Thornes veil. I was going to skip the hood and use the veil I already have. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the Thornes veil but something like this is probably your best "bang for the buck" if you have a good functioning veil.

I LOVE the Brushy Mtn clothing,, and the hat/veils,, but if heat is an issue and you have a good breeze ,, you may consider the ventilated one from Rossman apiaries I like it,, when it is super hot and a nice breeze..

Try UltraBreeze or Pigeon Mountains...both are very nice...Pigeon Mountain is a little cheaper ($).

I use the BrushyMT jacket with veil and really like it. I have never been stung thru it.

I use the jacket and vail from Mannlake it was like 49.95 It works great have not been stung while wearing the jacket.

I’ve used the Pollinator Jacket from Mannlake for seven years now; CV-140 @ $109.
The elastic around the wrist has relaxed over time. Now after throwing it on I place rubber bands or tape onto the cuffs.
Other than that its held up well too working the Bees and the washing machine.
I’ve removed the veil from the jacket many times with no zipper failures or hang up’s.
The zippers are heavy duty. The veil allows for full vision and
the jacket/veil breaths ok in hot weather for being a Cotton/Poly blend.
The veil stays away from the face. I also have a Dadant Veil Hooded Jacket but the veil touches my face and I’ve been stung, I’m sure Dadant has made great improvements on there jacket by this time. Oh! I used a ball cap when wearing the DVHJ to keep the veil away from my face, but I’m not a hat person. So for me that’s another piece of equipment to remember. I think with a hat under my veil it makes my head that much hotter. I know, boohoo boohoo.
So when I head out the door to work Bees the Pollinator Jacket is my choice. The DVHJ is a back up.
I think the Pollinator Jacket works well and would bye another one.
I'm thinking after seven years, I’m going to do that.

I use the Brushy Mountain jacket with dome hood. I've liked it and have had no problems.

Thanks. I got the brushy mountain jacket. The dome hood seems really big (I'm a little over 5 feet) and made me feel a little claustrophobic. I know, it's insane. It's just one of those things. The jacket works perfectly with the thornes veil I already have. It's not any warmer than going out in long sleeves. So far so good. Thanks!
