Mixing Fumagilin B

Ok...first year beek and i've made my first batch of 2 / 1 and i want to give a dose of Fumagilin B just because i want to say i did it at least once..for the learning experience. the paperwork helped with the quanity to add to the syrup...my questions are.... do i add the powder when syrup is hot...warm or cold?? will the powder mix if cold?? will medication be affected from the heat??

Mix the Fumagilin in a cup of water and then add to the syrup.

Ok...but having never worked with it before will it disolve in cold water or disolve it in a cup of warm/hot water then pour it into room temp syrup???

Cold water from the tap is fine.

Thanks...didn't want to waste 50lbs of sugar or half a bottle of medication..wasnt sure if it was like corn starch that will mix in cold and clump in hot water..Thanks

Bee careful. The instructions say to not add it to hot liquids. I made some today and the instructions say "Do not add to syrup over 86 degrees". I also recommend keeping your unused Fumagilin in the fridge.

Thanks all..didnt see any mixing info with mine other than amounts..will let it all cool and mix it up when finished with work tomorow and get it on the bees..thanks again to all

Protect medicated syrup from direct sunlight. Fumagillin decays within hours when exposed to light.

I know I am repeating myself, but for the cost of the stuff you think that they could give you a decent set of directions or at least a link to a set that does not look like a 40 year old photo copy!
