Has anyone seen this behavior before? I saw a bee dancing ON one of my ripe queen cells. It was an obvious dance, and not something else. It continued for quite some time.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? I saw a bee dancing ON one of my ripe queen cells. It was an obvious dance, and not something else. It continued for quite some time.
Yes, they often drum on the cells to keep the queen inside...usually until after a swarm leaves...sometimes for afterswarms.

Interesting - this was a dance though. The bee was turning circles and stuff. Sort of like the "waggle" dance, but different. Never seen anything like it before. Maybe the bee was communicating their queen was about to hatch.
