Default Does buckwheat nectar smell like goldenrod

I planted 10 acres of Buckwheat and it just started blooming a week ago. Our early Golden started blooming about the same time. Our early bloom of Goldenrod does not normally produce very much nectar. The bees are working the Buckwheat very hard and I see very few bees on any of the Goldenrod. Almost all of the bees coming back to the hive have Buckwheat pollen on them, and maybe every 5 minutes a bee will come in with Goldenrod pollen on them. The field of buckwheat has so many bees in that when you get close to it you can hear it humming. All 10 of the hives on the field have an odor similar to Goldenrod, but I didn't know if it produces an off smell like the goldenrod nectar.

My uncle planted buckwheat. The bees worked it very heavy this year. We did not notice an odor similar to goldenrod.

How long did it take your buckwheat to bloom? I just read that some varieties bloom in as little as 4 weeks.
Seems like it would be a good late season crop to plant.

Must be nice! I wonder why it's twice as pricey down here?

I didn't plant much, but mine bloomed just under 4 weeks also.

It may cost less in Pennsylvania because it is one of the states that grows it for a crop.

It smells like buckwheat (like the field of buckwheat smells ) and it makes white wax, I dont know if 10 acres is a big enough field to make it though
