What is the best way to uncap the honey frames.

How many supers do you plan to extract?

Sorry I have 10 supers. Last year I used the scraper, but I only had 2 supers.

A scratcher would still be okay. I dislike knives, so a planer would be the next step up that's affordable.

I like a steam knife.
Used an electric once, it would overheat then cool down too much. I am sure there are better ones. (there has to be)
The steam knife provides a constant temperature. Use a pressure cooker to supply stream on a camping stove. The type of pressure cooker you need is one that has a removable pressure valve on the lid. Namco, Hawkins and SEB are suitable brands, there others. Some like Vitivar are not suitable. The hoses can add weight to the stream knife. Tie up the hoses so when it hangs from the hoses so it can comfortably cut the bottom of the frame. This way there is little weight.

Just make sure you don't run out of water

The advantage in using a knife is that the comb is cut straight and the correct bee space is maintained.
