bees just hanging out

I thought that all the bees had a job , but every time I check out one of my hives there's about 200 just hanging out on the outside of the hive. There are plenty of field bees coming and going, a ton of bees on the inside taking care of things. It's a strong hive. They can't be all guard bees, can it? Just curious. Thanks

There hot. The bees hang out on the out side to help cool the hive. It's normal. Mine do it every evening.
