How soon do you need it?
Can you wait until after the last of our honey is harvested and the wax worked. I have a friend w/ about 800 hives and I w/ 400. We extract at his place and he deals w/ the wax. I also know a number of other beekeepers here in NY who mightr be able to pol that amount together, if the price is right.
Need it for foundation?

Mark, if you get 5 tons from 1200 hives Im a leprechaun. Ron, Sue Bee is your best bet. Best prices. You need to talk to Leonard Kurtz (I think thats spelled right), extension 3109 @ 712 258 0638 Their hours are 8-5 CST for Sioux city
I Know a guy who runs 15,000 hives in mn who would have the amount you want. If interested let me know.
Not saying you are a leprechaun, but you don't know how much honey he runs thru his honey house. Other peoples honey. And he has been known to stockpile barrels of cappings for processing.
But, you are right. Even 100lbs of honey from that number of hives wouldn't make 5 tons of wax.

It would take approx 1000 drum of honey to end up with 10,000 lbs renedered wax. Correct??????
