    Default newbie needs some advice

I have two hives in northeast alabama that I started with Nucs in April. One had completely filled 2 deeps and I added a Medium honey super in May. I also added a 2nd deep to my other hive at that time. They have almost filled up that 2nd super. But the hive with the honey super on never would move up there. I removed the queen excluder, still nothing. Then we went into a dearth and I noticed they started eating their honey stores. So I started feeding sugar syrup. One week later, that medium super is half full. I was saving that super for my surplus honey to enjoy. I stopped feeding for now but how will I be able to tell what frames have sugar syrup and which ones have "real" honey. If it's just for myself, will it make a difference? Not sure what to do here. Any help is appreciated.

I guess you could mark the frames full of sugar with a Sharpie or nail polish and just avoid extracting those ones. Or, you could extract/crush and strain those now, put the wet frames back in and they would love to clean them up and re-draw them.

It will definitely make a difference in taste. I tried eating some sugar stores from my brood box... ick! It tastes like a crappy lolipop with no flavor other than sugar.

Next time use Honey Bee Healthy in the syrup, it makes the sugar water honey taste much better.
