Hello from Long Island!

I'm a second year beekeeper from East Hampton, NY. I have four hives at the moment and may split soon to make more!
I started with all Beemax equipment that was given to me by a friend, and I am slowly trying to educate myself in the different types of beekeeping and beekeeping materials to eventually find the best methods and materials for me and my area. I now have two beemax hives and two wooden hives and I am curious to see how they winter. I would like to start two top bar hives next year from splits and am very excited about that.
I did my first split this year and was completely amazed at the whole process. Seeing queens emerge from cells was almost a religious experience, and gaining a healthy and productive hive rather quickly from the process was enlightening.
I have SO many questions...
