    Default Getting royal jelly

Getting ready to try grafting and wonder what is the best way to get royal jelly. Got some queen cells today and put them in plastic container for storage. Do I open cells now and take out jelly and store? Can I use what comes out of drone cells when I scrape them off frame? Thanks in advance.

In my opinion prepping the cells with royal jelly isn't needed. The larva you graft will have a small bit on it and, if you cell builder is strong enough, the nurse bees will add some within minutes after you place the cells.

Drone cells won't have any royal jelly.
