Need a Queen
Had a hive swam 2 weeks ago. Was able to catch the swarm, they are doing great. But the original hive is queen less. Hive is getting upset so ned a queen ASAP. I checked them twice and they are just starting to get a few drone cells

Re: Need a Queen
You saw no signs of queen cells in the original hive? Usually the original hive begins to build queen cells before the swarm. if not they surely do within days of it. examine the hive closely and be sure you have no queen cells either developing, or empty. What you perceive as drone cells may be the start of queen cells. You may have a virgin (newly emerged) queen in there already as queen development only takes slightly over two weeks. be sure she is not out on a breeding flight when you examine the hive.
