    Default Untreated Redwood

I have leftover untreated but green redwood planks. Can I use these in my hives?

Would it be better to wait a year for them to dry out?

thanks! I would just make following boards and covers etc. with them....

They will shrink substantially as they dry. Wait a year.

Stack them with spacers between the planks. Make sure the "stickers" are all the same size and lined up perfectly top to bottom, about 2' apart. This will hold the wood in place as it dries and help keep it flat. Depending on your climate and the thickness of the wood, it should be equilibrated in a year (longer if more than 1" thick).

It will warp and cup some, so plan on planing it flat before using.
