Do queenless hives build little/no comb?
I have 2 nucs that I recently bought (very cheap) from another beek, and one appears to have a laying worker. The other has supercedure cells building.
I hived the nucs about a week ago, and put some frames in, both with and without foundation. I fed both hives, but neither of them have drawn any comb on the frames I put in, and very little, if any, on the frames that came with the nuc.
Is lack of drawn comb a sign of queenlessness?

I've seen the same thing with some of the nucs I was raising queens in. Some beekeepers say they don't draw the frames unless they need it.
