I was going to measure the water content of my honey at the location of the hives. But then I watched a UTube video and it said the heat at the hive could impact the reading. It suggested that the sample be allowed to come to a normal temperature. What is the recommended process and should I do it at each one of my hives as the conditions may vary. It would seem that checking at the hive is the most logical, or is there another recommended process? Although I am relatively new, it would seem that taking the reading after my supers are brought back to my house is an after the fact situation and more problematic. I would appreciate your thoughts.
