Hi from the Pacific Northwest

New BEEK but I've been studying for over 30 years. Started 3 hive from NUCs on the 4th of May. One hive is a top bar Octagon shape Warre style hive made from 2x10 cedar. Bees seem to really like it! My other 2 hive are Langstroth but with Warre quilts and roofs. Uncoventional, but it seems to be working well. Challanges here are the rain and not having a prominant nectar flow.

We are in Noxon, Mt. 50 miles East of Sandpoint, Id. We have been feeding some all along. Started our hives on April 15th from nucs. There are plenty of flowers around, but the temps have been cool and it hasn't quit raining. Do have our first supers on now. Two deeps underneath. It's been very interesting to learn about our busy friends...

You should have some well-watered forage there in Shelton...it's just about the best watered part of the Puget Sound Basin, isn't it?

I'm a native Seattlite,, and have a number of friends around the Oly/Shelton area.
