Put the box on at night, or before bees are flying in the morning. That way they orient on the front of the box, not on the front of the transition where they left from since the transition was installed..
I put two drawn combs, two frames of foundation. Don't put too many, (could attract SHB and Wax Moths).
If all entrances are sealed, you will first notice guard bees moving to the front of the hive. You will notice cleaners enter the box and start cleaning the frames you give them and the box.
Let them use the box for a few days before introducing the unsealed brood. Then you can remove the foundation frames and put more drawn comb if you have it because bees will rush into the box once the brood is introduced. Then they will protect it.
If you have questions, Just let me know.
