Re using old combs

I was going to make up some summer nucs and I have several old brood combs from a laying worker hive that I dismantled five or six weeks ago. The combs have been in the freezer ever since. I was wanting to know if I could use them for replacing the frames that I take out of my strong hive for the splits. The frames have alot of honey and pollen on them but they also have a fair amount of drone brood in them to. Will the bees remove the old drone brood before it starts to rot.

yes. I had the same issue, did what you are asking about and they bees cleaned them up within days. No problem.

Old? I have comb older than Mountain Bee, I bet. Go ahead and use them. Their relatively brand new.
