If they were zinc, no way. Were they woodbound or metal bound wire excluders, possibly, but I doubt it. Don't try to change his mind. It's too late. You won't make any points w/ him trying to do so. Doing so yourself would be a waste of time.

The bees are using the natural earth electricity to power all their tools. Of course they can get more done, ever try to use an electric saw without electricity?

A saws all works the same with or without electricity. It is just a lot easier with the power.

Classic. So often when somebody is pushing some method / idea, which to most other people on the forum is nonsense, the person will be able to back up their claim with "my bees survive better", or whatever.

Kind of reverse placebo effect, or something.

I think you forgot the smily face there Brian. Hook an electrical cord to a handsaw and plug it in and then cut the electrical cord off of a table saw and which one will you be able to rip a board with.

You might be surprised how fast you'll move that hand saw when the current reaches your hand!

Maybe so Mark but you do realize that every electric saw that you can imagine was powered by something other than electricity before it came about. Nothing electric was used to make the pyramids.

My guess would be 60 cycles a second but the amplitude is so small it doesn't accomplish anything.
