    Default viable queen cells

In your cell builder hive, will the bees open up a sealed queen cell if the queen inside is dead? Just wanted to know if I can always depend on the bees quality control when I am raising cells to put into nucs. John

Mine don't. I suppose it might depend on when the queen died though. Maybe 5-10% of mine don't hatch.

If you are working with ripe queen cells, you should be able to see movement.
Holding the cell bar up to bright light will show the image easily.
    Good luck,
