Default Will smoking bees induce them to draw out comb?

I am wondering about this. If one was to smoke a colony every 15 minutes or so for several hours would this cause the bees to consume enough honey to build comb if they were shaken onto plain foundation.
It is merely something that popped into my head while trying to think of ways to easily replace old comb with new. Any ideas are appreciated.
    Thanks

If I were a bee, I'm not sure I'd want to invest precious energy and work building a home that I perceived to be on fire.

No, I would not expect that result. I wouldn't do it.

Feeding induces comb building in absence of flow....

Move your old frames that you want to replace to the edges. Once they are free of brood, you can remove them and than place your foundation between drawn out frames close to the center. they will pull these out fairly quickly and by having drawn frames on either side, they are more likely to draw them out correctly.

If I were a bee and I was being smoked for hours on end, I believe I might be induced to abscond, not build more comb. I don't think providing an inhospitable environment induces positive results.

Now when you smoke the bee's how do you get them to not sting your lips out the end of the rolling paper.? That would seem to be an issue for me. It is legal right? Not like that mary jane stuff.

What is it that you burn in your smoker to produce such ideas?

The myth that smoking makes them think they are in a fire and need to fill up on honey is just a myth. Open any hive with and without smoke. The same number of bees will have their heads in cells. A little smoke just covers the alarm pheromone. Too much smoke just upsets them.
