I understand that everclear works good for queen juice, How does moonshine work? (not that i know where to get any...). Also, to make the juice do you need fertilized queens, or will virgins that didn't make it work as well?
thanks,
mike

If you're asking about collecting QMP, then any kind of alcohol that's strong enough to keep things sterile should work fine. As far as which queens to use, laying queens supposedly produce/contain far more QMP than caged, or virgin queens (in that order).
There is no difference between everclear and moonshine other than legalities... isopropyl, methyl, ethyl all work fine.

Well, that & most moonshine is watered back down to 80-100 proof, or at least that's what I heard... lol
Everclear is left at 190proof (max attainable by distillation), but I'm guessing anything over about 60 proof should work fine.
Thanks ya'll!
Newbee question.
what is Queen juice and what is it used for?
QMP = Queen Mandibular Pheromone
Can be used for improving the effectiveness of swarm lures, and for making "imitation" queens to keep queenless hives running, without their acting queenless...among other things, I'm sure![]()
Never mind the stupid bees! Drink the Everclear![]()
It's tempered, not diluted.
lol, nobody said "diluted," but I think I hear the revenuers heading over in your direction![]()
moonshine will get u going why waste it on bees. I like pineapple moonshine. dont kow about the bees. They might not be able to find their way home.
