Are your bees working?

In my area of SW Ontario there appears to be many hives whose bees are not working .... just lieing around doing nothing or cleaning out frames of last year's honey .... some folk are saying the bees are that way because they experienced n'tinoids earlier during the planting season and they are concerned about poisons.

Any comments

I'm in Oshawa, and have 8 hives (I split one today).
All of them are booming.
Far better than last year.
Of course my bees may have been working at GM, and been laid off !

My bees don't seem to be broken; they're all working very well after making splits recently.
