As you may already know we have alot of bees here so it's of no surprise there is another kiwi here to join this massive group of people.
I'm 31 and just discovered what I really want to do in life, bees! My long term goal is to give commercial bee breeding a try. Currently I have 17 hives that I started from only 3 hives 4 months ago, mostly italians, a few carniolan/italian crosses and one near pure carniolan hive, still not sure which performs better in our local environment, however after a few seasons and a large sample group I should have some idea.
As the nickname suggest, I want to take a real scientific approach to beekeeping and another dream of mine is one day to finish my degree and move on to doing a phd in bee genetics.
Hope all is well with everyone here.
