Default VP Queen Bees on Voice Of America 6/5/2012

Voice Of America's environmental reporter came out to our place in March for a story.
It was fun and interesting to see how they took the information and made it into a "News" story.

During the interview part, one bee was thinking about stinging me--I had fun bracing for the sting, while trying to keep my thoughts
    straight .

They did a great job with "the story", Adam. Look forward to meeting with you next time I'm in Maryland.

Adam, I have three queens marked blue of yours from 2010 of coarse that are absolutely fantastic. I will miss them when I no longer see queens with the blue dot on them in those colonies. They are very good honey produces, and dont run out of honey in dearths like most of the other stock I have. I am totally impressed with them. I may have to order some virgins from you yet this year if you have some unspoken for? Keep up the good work!

Great story, I purchased several queens from you a few years back, I am starting to realize the benefits of better bees, thanks to you and other breeders that are leading the way to getting our honeybee back on all six feet. Keep up the good work.

Thumbs Up Re: VP Queen Bees on Voice Of America 6/5/2012

Watching a snap shot of your operation was a real treat Adam

I'd like to hear more about the conditions that resulted in two marked queens on the same comb in that hive.

Two weeks ago, I had a visit by a beekeeper from Siberia. We talked a lot -via an interpreter- about his way, and my way of doing things. We compared and contrasted equipment too. When we saw a lone queen cell during an inspection, I said I was looking for a second queen, suspecting a supercedure. He confidently told me that can never happen.....He was adamant that it could not happen. I'll send him the link to your VOA story. Thanks, I enjoyed it!

Every now and then an II/AI queen will be superceeded and the daughter will lay in the hive with her mother for awhile. That's what was going on in that hive.

Everyone: Thanks for the input--we appreciate it
