Big Grin Saved a queen today!!!

So I made a split 10 days ago and wasn't expecting the queen cells they made to hatch and was going to cut out the extra cells. To my surprise, I saw one virgin queen running around the frames and one queens head popping out. The new virgin queen had already killed 11 other queen cells. I saw the new baby queen and quickly cut her off and put her into a queen less colony. I was so happy to open my hive at that time. If I were 5 minutes late, I wouldn't even have an extra queen. In my other hive, I saw three queen cells popped open and one close, so I cut that one out and replaced another existing queen. I am so happy with my results of splitting, however I could have saved more queens if the queen hadn't hatched this early. Is it possible for a queen to hatch in 10 days.TIA
