    Default First Swarm Trapped

On Memorial day I setup a swarm trap in a tree about 10 feet off the ground. I basically a converted medium super and added 10 frames with built up foundation. Today we caught a swarm. I put my ear up to the hive this evening and could hear them buzzing. How long should I leave the swarm in the tree before transferring them to a hive? Should I move the trap to the location of the new hive for day or 2 before I transfer or should I just transfer them? Can't believe we caught one so quick.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Are you sure it is a swarm? I have traps and bees will visit but they are just harvesting bits and "goodies". Some will spend the night in the traps. A swarm could be checking it out. I've had them check a location for a couple of days before they take up residence. If it were me, I'd leave it until I was sure

Looks like we got a swarm; the bees have been bring in pollen. I think I'm going to transfer them this weekend. There is also some activity on our other trap.
