Intoducing virgin queens to sealed broad and nurse bees...
In Snelgrove's book "The Introduction of Queen Bees" one method of introducing virgin queens was to use only sealed brood. I have considered setting up my queen-castles the day before the queens arrive with emerging / sealed brood...
Having read a number of threads on the subject of virgin introduction, I haven't seen enough opinions to help with my own decision.
I know that some recommend a standard release with a cage/candy; to me, queenless nurse bees with sealed and emerging brood seems like an ideal environment for direct releasing of the virgins.
What comments or suggestions would some of you offer?
