Queen excluder sizing

1. Can drones pass thru a queen excluder ?

2. Is the a mesh size that will work as an excluder ?

I am sure these are really newbee questions, but I have looked around and can't find any references.

Drones can not pass through a queen excluder. They make drone escapes for this purpose.
If there was wire mesh that worked we would be using it, especally commercially. The problems are the opening size varies as the wires shift in manufacture. The galvanized wire especially tears at the wings and strips the workers of pollen. It is used in pollen traps.
