Langstroth to specs; problem?

I built my Langstroth's to specifications found here on Beesource at 9-5/8" deep but I've read that most new hive bodies are 9-1/8.

A) Is this true, are the newer bodies trimmed down a bit?

B) Will the extra space at the bottom and top between the 2 deeps cause problems?

9 5/8 is the box size, 9 1/8 is the frame size. the frames are supposed to be smaller than the box

Yes, as long as suppliers sell a 9-1/8" frame, you'll need a 9-5/8" box.

I'll have to dig up where I read the hive body was down to 9-1/8", then again, maybe the information was referring hive bodies FOR 9-1/8" frames and wasn't clear.
