Well, I've been thinking of starting a hive over the last 6-7 years but do to moving or life haven't started one up. This past Saturday at a garage sale I bought 3 hives, 1 of which is (some-what) working. More on that tomorrow after I can take pictures and post in a different forum.

The most exciting part is to watch my 4 kids' reaction to just watching the bees and plans to help work it and see the inside.

Hopefully I won't do them more harm then if they were on their own.

The local bee club meeting hasn't come up yet, but I will be attending them as work and kid-chauffering allows. I'm crazy excited and very overwhelmed but I can't be the first one-we'll get through it.

The club meets the second Monday of every month. The club is a little disorganized. You might need to walk up to people during break and ask them questions. Most hives die on their own so you are probably doing them a favor. This site is a wealth of info.
