Extractor - Ease of Use and Reliability

Hello,

I am anticipating the purchase of an extractor, probably the Maxant 3100P, maybe the Dadant Ranger Radial. One thing for sure it will be an electric drive.

I have four questions that I hope you can answer that I did not find while doing a search;


1) Which unit is the EASIEST to load frames?

2) Which unit is the most mechanically reliable?

3) Which is the least destructive to WAX foundation?

4) Which is easiest to clean?

Our club has a Dadant (not sure if it's a Ranger Radial) extractor for members to use and I still bought a Maxant 3100p.

1). Both are easy to load
2). I think the Maxant is better built therefore more reliable.
3). I run foundationless medium frames and never had a blowout. It's all in how you control the variable speed. Start slow and speed up.
4. It takes me about 5 minutes to clean my Maxant without any dis-assembly.

They're both reliable; the belt drive on the Maxant is really smooth. Similar to load like most, and few radials are hazardous to foundation unless you REALLY crank them . I think they're largely a matter of preference, but I do really dig on the belt drive.

You must have a different model Maxant or maybe older. The Maxant 3100p isn't belt drive.

Maybe he's got the manual one like I do and it is belt driven and it is very smooth. I'll never regret spending a couple extra bucks for the USA made maxant, super quality.

Our club has dadant & mann lake extractors, We bought the Maxant, it is a better built machine. The metal is heavier gauge, & easy to use.

Yes it is a manual ; I just don't miss the "thrumming" of the gears.
