Does pollen necessarily mean nectar?

If the girls are bringing in pollen... does that mean definitively there is nectar available also or dont the two go hand in hand? Thanks.

Not really,

Some flowers yield both, clover is a good example. Some sources bees only work for pollen, like hazelnuts (which bloom in the late winter). For this time of year, at least where I live, there is ample supply of both.

At this time of year in most parts of the country with many different plants blooming, I would say yes. Around here in early spring and few plants flowering, the bees collect pollen from Skunk cabbage if it is available, but not much that I know of as far as nectar ; at least I hope not...
